Modus Operandi to Present at 2012 Semantic Technology and Business Conference

Modus Operandi, a leading provider of software technology solutions for unstructured data analytics and engineering services to defense and intelligence programs, will present a session entitled “Tactical Semantics: Extracting Situational Knowledge Transcripts using Ontology-Driven Text Analysis” at the 2012 Semantic Technology and Business Conference next month in San Francisco, CA.

Dr. Kent D. Bimson, former vice president of research, Modus Operandi, will be presenting on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.  The presentation will discuss the results of research performed in analyzing the semantics of (unclassified) tactical communications transcripts, designing an ontology, vocabulary and grammar for automated knowledge extraction, and developing a prototype knowledge extraction capability for automated situational updates.

Mark Wallace, principal engineer of semantic applications, Modus Operandi, will be teaching a tutorial, “Introduction to RDF, RDFS, & OWL” on Monday, June 4.
