Modus Operandi Named Solution Partner of the Year by Borland

MELBOURNE, Florida, August 13, 2001 – Modus Operandi, a leading business solutions innovator, announced that it has received the prestigious “2001 Solution Partner of the Year” award from Borland Software Corporation (NASDAQ NM: BORL) a leading provider of e-business platform solutions .

The award was announced on July 22nd by Borland President & CEO Dale L. Fuller at the 12th Annual Borland Developers Conference (BorCon™). Every year, Mr. Fuller takes a few moments during the opening keynote address to honor companies and individuals “whose notable achievements exemplify software development at its finest.”.

Modus Operandi was selected for the award for the development of their Catalyst integration framework and WAVE (Wide Area Virtual Environment) collaboration suite, both of which were built with Borland® JBuilder™ and VisiBroker®. Catalyst helps developers link information from disparate hardware, applications, and operating systems, resulting in a composite, individualized, Web-based view of information without the need to acquire new hardware and software platforms. WAVE is a collaborative project development and management system. WAVE facilitates better information sharing and communication among all project stakeholders. WAVE allows people to collaborate on, share, report, search and analyze information stored in heterogeneous information systems. Systems comprised of different hardware configurations, platforms, and applications can be integrated over the Internet and accessed using a simple web browser.

Once systems are integrated using Catalyst, WAVE leverages this integration to enable a team of geographically separated people to collaborate rapidly and effectively on business and technical projects. WAVE is applicable to a wide variety of collaboration needs, such as business and market planning, design prototyping and evaluation, or joint development of a wide variety of intellectual work products. For example, engineers can use WAVE to quickly collaborate on and evaluate potential system designs. 

WAVE provides the following features: • Collaborative information workspaces for efficient information sharing • Project issue tracking and management with reference links to effected items • Detailed report generation and report definition of all project information • Web-based project baseline management and document version control • One simple Web interface for accessing all project information • Reusable components for developing new information management, collaboration and automation capabilities.
