Modus Operandi Wins Two Air Force Contracts Supporting
45th Space Wing Knowledge Management Framework
MELBOURNE, Florida, June 26, 2006 – Modus Operandi, a leading software and information integration technology company, has been awarded two Phase I Small Business Innovation Research contracts by the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL). The contracts, valued at $100,000 each, will be performed in support of the U.S. Air Force’s (USAF) 45th Space Wing and will further extend Modus Operandi’s current Wave® architecture for semantic data integration. Both contracts will enrich the Knowledge Management Framework activities at the 45th Space Wing as well as corporate Wave development objectives. The first contract, entitled "Decision Explanation Engine Platform (DEEP)" will create an ontology, or unifying information model, to fuse operational data and documents related to decision making. DEEP will provide the critical advances required to explain the decision process to end users in an easy-to-understand format. The second contract, entitled “Community Ontology Refinement with Adaptive Learning (CORAL)” leverages usage patterns of an ontology to make it easier and faster for users to find the information they need. CORAL will help the ontology evolve with new and changing applications.
