Modus Operandi Announces Two New Board Members
MELBOURNE, Florida, Sept. 6, 2007 – Modus Operandi, a leading software and information integration technology company, announced today the appointments of Richard P. McNeight and James W. Thomas to its board of directors.
As founder of Paravant Computer Systems in 1982, Rick McNeight led the company through its successful initial public offering in 1996 and its acquisition by DRS Technologies in 2002. From 2002 to 2006, he served as President of DRS Tactical Systems, growing revenue from $30 million to $175 million and establishing DRS as the worldwide leader in design and production of rugged portable computers for military systems. Rick holds a B.S. degree in Applied Science and Engineering and an M.S.E. degree in Computer Information and Control Engineering. He has served on numerous business, education and charitable boards, including the Brevard Business Leadership Network, the Brevard County Workforce Development Board, the Florida Institute of Technology Engineering Board of Overseers, and Bridges (formerly the Association of Retarded Citizens of Brevard). Rick is also a Board Member of the Astronaut Memorial Foundation.
Jim Thomas is the founder of Coastal Dominion Capital, LLC, an early stage investment firm. Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of MapQuest.com, where he helped lead the transition from a traditional service company to the market-leading Internet mapping company. Jim managed MapQuest's initial public offering and subsequent sale to AOL. Prior to MapQuest, he was Division President for Sierra Online's largest division in charge of the company's major branded products. He has a B.S. in Mathematics from Florida Institute of Technology and an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia. Jim is a member of the Board of Trustees of Florida Institute of Technology.
Rick and Jim join existing board members Dr. Anthony Catanese, President of Florida Institute of Technology, and Peter Dyson, Modus Operandi President and CEO.
