Modus Operandi Names Eric Root Vice President of Engineering
MELBOURNE, FL, Oct. 23, 2009 – Modus Operandi, a leading software and information integration technology company, has appointed Eric Root to the new position of vice president of engineering. He will oversee Modus Operandi’s engineering department, including the areas of staffing, career growth, and training.
Eric has nearly 20 years of diverse software engineering and project management experience, primarily supporting federal government projects. Most recently, he was the senior program manager for Science Applications International Corporation’s (SAIC) OneSAF program, a U.S. Army’s government open source simulation program being used for training, analysis and experimentation throughout the Department of Defense. During his tenure at SAIC, he held several program management, technical leadership and software engineering positions. Prior to working at SAIC, Eric was employed as a research scientist at the University of Central Florida (UCF) Institute for Simulation and Training. He also worked as a graduate researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
Eric holds a master's degree in computer science from UCF and a bachelor's degree in computer science/mathematics from Missouri Western State University. He is also a member of the Central Florida Project Management Institute.
