appointed group of professionals who provide guidance and support on issues
critical to the company. They serve as a valuable complement to our
management team. Members of our Technology Advisory Board are:
Marguerite Ardito, founder of Information Exchange, has provided information architecture and business development services for over 30 years. Her areas of expertise include all aspects of data, information and knowledge management and integration practices and technologies. She has focused on strategic planning, advanced programs and Enterprise Information Architecture. She is currently leading the Enterprise Data Architecture effort at the largest Intelligence Agency and actively involved in IC Information Interoperability efforts. Previous she was chief information architect on a number of important government and commercial programs and pursuits, including: several classified intelligence systems; Inchon Airport Integrated Information and Communications System (Seoul, Korea); National Archives Electronic Records Archive; ECLIPSE and Tornado programs for aircraft life cycle support; Core electronics program for NASA Shuttle and Space Station; and the Raytheon team responsible for the NSA Cryptologic Mission Management Logical Data Model and data integration strategy.
Dr. Kent Bimson (Chairman) is President of Bimson Consulting in Cape Canaveral, Florida, which focuses on strategic application of emerging semantic technologies to military and industry needs. He is supporting the USAF 45th Space Wing in developing the Knowledge Management Initiative, which uses an ontology to integrate legacy data for web access. He consults on business development, semantic technology strategy, and developing win-win business partnerships among small businesses, large systems integrators and government organizations. His technical focus is on enterprise information integration and semantic modeling, teaching workshops in these areas for clients and supporting customers on numerous semantic technology projects. He has twenty-seven years of experience in technology management and research, serving as VP for Elagent Corp., VP and Chief Scientist for SAIC, Research Scientist for Lockheed, and faculty member at the University of California, Davis and California State University, Sacramento. He holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics from UCLA and M.S. in Computer Science from CSUS.
Sam Ceccola, Vice President of Technology Transformation, Capgemini
— Ceccola has 18 years experience in delivering information
technology systems for business and government focused primarily in
distributed architectures that include service-oriented architectures
(SOA). He was previously Deputy CTO at BEA Systems, after managing the high availability practice for Hewlett-Packard Managed Services. Ceccola is very active in the IT sector with
conference keynotes and presentations at several industry forums
including Open Group (where he serves on the Board of Directors),
Industry Advisory Council, Network Centric Operations Industry Consortium, and Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association.
Jeff Pollock, Sr. Director, Fusion Middleware at Oracle — Jeff Pollock is a technology leader in our industry as well as the author of "Adaptive Information: Improving Business Through Semantic Interoperability, Grid Computing, and Enterprise Integration." He is senior director for Fusion Middleware at Oracle. Jeff formerly held the position of VP of Technology for Cerebra which is now part of WebMethods. Previously as CTO of Modulant, he delivered one of the industry's first semantic integration platforms in 2001. Prior to Modulant, Jeff Pollock held senior engineering roles with Modem Media and Ernst & Young's Center for Technology Enablement. Jeff has been a frequent speaker at industry conferences, author, W3C and OASIS representative, and engineering instructor with University of California at Berkeley's Extension.
