Position: Senior Software Engineer  
(This position is available in Melbourne, FL) 

Modus Operandi, located in Melbourne, FL, is seeking an exceptional Java software engineer to join our engineering team. Note – All applicants applying for this job opening must be US citizens and have the ability to obtain a security clearance.  

 Job Description 

The successful candidate must possess strong software design and development skills as well as full software systems development life cycle experience, such as Agile. The selected team member will participate and/or lead the research, development, and fielding of software applications in the Federal Government or commercial community. 

 Required Skills 

  • Bachelors in computer science or related field of study  
  • Expert hands-on skills in Java and common frameworks such as Spring Boot 
  • Strong software design and enterprise application architecture knowledge 
  • Comfortable with enterprise microservice deployments 
  • Ability to learn new skills and solve challenging problems

Desired Skills 

  • BS in Computer Science or a related field of study  
  • Knowledge of Semantic systems and technologies (such as RDF and OWL) 
  • NoSQL experience (such as time-series or graph databases) 
  • Familiarity with applied data processing (such as data fusion, event processing, enterprise integration patterns, text analysis, etc.) 
  • Familiarity with multi-level security environments 
  • Working knowledge of SOA and Cloud computing 
  • Skills in Javascript (Angular) and Python 
  • Strong understanding of machine learning concepts
