Knowledge Graph

Movia® produces knowledge objects and stores them in a knowledge graph, where each object understands its relationships to the others

Your brain builds answers by associating pieces of data together, based on patterns you have learned. Movia® thinks like you do, building connections from all things learned.

Is a knowledge graph for you?
  • Is your research limited because your intelligence is arranged in stovepipes instead of objects of interest?
  • Does it seem like you are starting from scratch with every new request and that it takes a lot longer than necessary to get past the research and into actual analysis?
  • Does it make sense to quickly see what research has been done before on the topics you need, enabling you to build on your organization's existing intelligence?
  • Would you like a layered map detailing which geographic locations could support a helicopter landing with MIL-STD symbology? How about a detailed report on latest activity at the top three locations?

Movia® Focuses Research on Objects of Interest

  • Movia® focuses research on objects of interest, instead of directories and folders. Your efforts begin with what is already known and established, saving you the time of starting from scratch
  • With Movia®, an analyst does not start from scratch

Movia® Finds the Knowledge Hidden in Your Data

  • Your team's data is rich with information, not just keywords
  • Movia® uses AI/ML to look within your data for information objects and relationships, and then builds extensive metadata that establishes linkages and correlations between these objects, based on your organization's ontology

Movia® Puts Your Knowledge in Its Place

  • Movia® produces knowledge objects and stores them in a knowledge graph
  • The objects become {"smart"} and understand their relationships to other objects
  • Each piece of data — collected from information across your domain — becomes a self-aware object that can quickly assemble itself into the right response to your query

Movia® Responds With Objects, Not Documents

  • When you make a query with keywords from your request, Movia® responds with objects from its knowledge graph - built from several disparate data sources in your collection - in an understandable visualization
  • Movia® assembles your team's knowledge - objects from different sensors, data sources and past research – into a time-saving summary response, saving you the time and effort of digging through mountains of data to find relevant connections
  • Movia® collects individual data elements from across your domain and assembles it into a mosaic of information that helps you see the bigger picture

Movia® Alerts You to What Has Changed

  • Intelligence reports are valid as of the date they are published
  • Movia® even alerts you to changes that may have occurred since the last time this information was used and analysis comments that may offer alternative viewpoints

Movia® Knowledge Objects Are a Single Point of Convergence

  • Next generation Object-Based Production (OBP) process support. Movia® knowledge objects provide analysis-professionals with a single point of convergence for all information and analytics produced about a topic of interest
  • Activity-based Intelligence (ABI) support. {"ABI is a multi-INT approach to activity and transactional data analysis to resolve unknowns, develop object and network knowledge, and drive collection."} (source: US Under Secretary of Defense for Intelligence)
Field Work

Our Knowledge Graph Work

U.S. Marine Corps, DCGS-MC

Modus Operandi developed a system that allows Marine Corps intelligence analysts to rapidly search large amounts of unstructured data, find critical patterns and other essential elements, and share their work with other analysts. Our text analytics identifies events of interest to analysts — such as IED events, observation events, and travel events — transforms those events into Resource Description Framework {"triples,"} and saves the RDF in a triple store database that supports advanced queries. Analysts can automatically create pages for these events by importing them into the semantic wiki from the triple store.

U.S. Army, DCGS-SIGINT

An entity extractor subscribes to the reporting channel and semantically tags concepts by applying the ontology of the Joint Command, Control and Consultation Information Exchange Data Model (JC3IEDM). Using Movia®, analysts are able to search in a vocabulary native to their domain, find embedded entities, and process unstructured products more quickly.

U.S. Army, Guardrail Common Sensor

Guardrail data was exposed via a semantic model, or ontology, which is capable of mediating and harmonizing heterogeneous structured and unstructured data stores. These SOA-based services provide the user with a common operating picture while leveraging existing programs and accessing real-time data. Modus Operandi has supported the Guardrail program since 1995.
