LOGEN gives an organization a live picture of its supply chain: what it has, where it is, where it's going, and what depends on it. The living intelligence builds a working model of suppliers, transport routes, inventory, and the units or sites being supplied, so the system understands dependencies rather than just line items on a report.

That lets it flag bottlenecks and single points of failure before they become shortages, keep functioning when connectivity is poor or intermittent, and maintain tamper-evident chain-of-custody records where provenance has to be provable. For defense that means sustaining operations in contested environments; commercially it's multi-tier supplier risk and origin verification.

LOGEN - Logistics Enhancement with Living Intelligence - was developed with the U.S. Navy, starting at the Naval Air Warfare Center and continuing into a follow-on program. It addresses logistics in contested conditions, where the network is degraded, the picture is incomplete, and the decision still has to be made on time. It builds directly on earlier Army logistics work, where the same model of suppliers, inventory and dependencies was applied to equipment readiness and maintenance forecasting.

Two things separate it from a dashboard over a logistics database. It keeps working when the connection does not, holding and reconciling state locally so a unit is not left blind when the link drops and not left with a stale picture when it returns. And it records custody in a form that can be checked rather than asserted, so where a part came from and who handled it is a matter of evidence, which is what counterfeit detection in defense sustainment and origin verification in commercial supply chains both come down to.
