Modus Operandi is committed to making modusoperandi.com usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnification, speech recognition, or keyboard-only navigation.
We treat accessibility as part of building a product properly, not as an afterthought. We also build software for United States government customers, where accessibility is a procurement requirement and a legal obligation, and we hold our own website to a standard consistent with that work.
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. WCAG 2.2 is backwards compatible with WCAG 2.1 and WCAG 2.0, so conformance with 2.2 Level AA also satisfies the earlier versions at that level, including the WCAG 2.0 Level AA success criteria referenced by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Current status: partially conformant. Partially conformant means that most of the website meets WCAG 2.2 Level AA, but some content does not yet fully conform. Known exceptions are listed in Section 4.
We publish this status honestly rather than claiming full conformance. A blanket claim of full compliance is rarely accurate for a website that changes, and it is not a claim we are willing to make without the assessment to support it.
Measures we take to make this website accessible include:
We are aware of the following limitations. We are working to resolve them.
This statement covers modusoperandi.com. The accessibility of Movia® and our other software products is assessed separately.
We understand that federal agencies are required to evaluate whether the information and communication technology they buy conforms to Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act. Accessibility Conformance Reports for our products are available to government customers and prospective customers on request. Contact us using the details in Section 7 and tell us which product you need a report for.
We assess the accessibility of this website through a combination of:
Automated testing alone cannot detect most accessibility barriers, so we do not rely on it by itself, and we do not use an automated overlay or accessibility widget. Overlays do not remediate the underlying code, and they can interfere with the assistive technology a person already uses and has configured to their needs. We prefer to fix the site itself.
We welcome your feedback. If you encounter a barrier on this website, if you need information in an alternative format, or if you need assistance completing a form, please tell us.
When you contact us, it helps if you can tell us the web address of the page, what you were trying to do, and what assistive technology and browser you were using. Please do not feel you need all of this to get in touch.
Our commitment to you: we will acknowledge your message within two business days and give you a substantive response, including a timeframe for any fix, within ten business days. If you need information from a page you cannot use, we will provide it to you in an accessible format at no charge.
If you are not satisfied with our response, ask for your message to be escalated to a member of our leadership team by replying to our response or by writing to the postal address in Section 7, marked for the attention of the Chief Operating Officer. We will review the matter and respond within fifteen business days.
We review this statement at least annually, and whenever we make a significant change to this website. The dates at the top of this page show when it was last reviewed and when the next review is due.
